February is one of the busiest months for the Web Marketing Association. We’ve extended the deadline to enter the Internet Advertising Competition Awards (Feb 15th the entry form comes off the server and you’ll have to wait until next year if you want to enter.  Go to new IAC Awards website at www.iacaward.org to enter) and we are getting ready for the launch next month of our 12th annual WebAward competition.

Conferences and Trade Shows

Trade show and conferences are one of the best places to learn about what is happening in the industry and to meet with Internet professionals who are judges and/or participants in our award programs.  This spring we will be traveling to all of the major Internet-oriented conferences increasing the awareness of the Web Marketing Association and the WebAward Competition. Many times we are able to get valuable discounts and offer free conference passes the readers of this newsletter.

In fact, Search Engine Strategies will give one lucky Interactive Briefing subscriber a full conference pass to the New York show, March 17-20 at the Hilton New York. To enter, send an email with your contact information to SES@Webaward.org. One person will be selected to receive this valuable pass. Deadline to enter is February 20, 2008.

The Web Marketing Association will again be offering sponsorships of specific industries within the WebAward competition for 2008. If your company or organization is interested in participating as an industry sponsor, please contact me at wrice@webaward.org to learn more.

CMO Council Survey

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council’s new Coalition to Leverage and Optimize Sales Effectiveness (CLOSE) is undertaking a major study to understand where and how greater efficiencies and cooperation between departments can drive sales. Marketing executives are being called on to integrate ever more closely with sales, and switch their focus from branding to lead generation and business closing activities. Please take approximately 15 minutes to provide the CMO Council with important feedback on this critical need. They will share aggregated findings with you and your individual responses will be kept strictly confidential.

The CLOSE survey is available in 5 languages:
