December is a time when we reflect on the successes of 2006 and start thinking ahead to 2007.
Both of the award programs sponsored by the Web Marketing Association – the WebAwards and the Internet Advertising Competition Awards were a tremendous success in 2006. Both received a record number of entries and continued to set the standard of Web excellence. This could not have been accomplished without the help of many individuals and organizations.
The first group I need to personally thank our 2006 award judges. These talented industry professionals are responsible for submitting thousands of scores to determine the best websites and online advertising in 96 industries. This year Mark Kingdon, CEO of Organic, Inc. served as lead judge of the WebAwards. Please join me in thanking all of these individuals for giving so much to the online marketing community.
The other group that deserves to be singled out for their support of our award programs is our sponsors. These hand-picked companies are all leaders in the online marketing world and they deserve your support. Our sponsors for 2006 include Burst Media, PR Web, ExactTarget, Register.com, SimpleFeed, AdTools, inc., NewsUSA and Misukanis & Odden. Our media sponsors include AdRants, MarketingVox, Website Services Magazine, ad:tech conferences, OMMA conferences, eComXpo and MacWorld.
Plans for 2007 are well underway. The IAC Awards are already accepting entries and the deadline is January 31, 2007. The WebAwards will kick off in April. Look for us at most of the leading Internet conferences next year, including Internet World in the UK!Here’s wishing you a happy holiday season and a very merry new year from everyone at the Web Marketing Association.
