May is when we start counting down the days until the deadline for entering the 18th annual WebAward Competition for Website Development. May 30th is the deadline to enter.

Top Ten Reasons to Enter the 2014 WebAwards

#10) Earn the honor, recognition and respect you deserve - Nothing says "we're the best" like an expert third party endorsement.

#9) Because hard work is rarely its own reward - You know how hard you worked and now it is time to let the rest of the world know - including senior management!

#8) Because client pitches shouldn't be about price - Make the sales process about quality, expertise and results. Enhance your portfolio and marketing materials with recognition from the WebAwards and have the tools to support your efforts. Clients love when their agency's work is recognized by the online marketing community.

#7) Bean counters love tangible results - Come budget time, the finance guys love tangible results and third-party affirmation demonstrating the quality of a project. Winning awards can help.

#6) A level playing field for all entries - We recognize that more money doesn't necessarily mean more talent and ability. We give equal treatment to all entries and all entries are submitted to all the judges - not just some handpicked "finalists".

#5) Highlight your specific industry expertise - Marketing experts agree that developing a specific industry expertise is a key way to build brand equity and increase revenues. With over 96 industry categories, you can nominate your project for multiple awards and highlight different areas of your business.

#4) Create a marketing opportunity for your site and your company - Winning a WebAward not only give you're an award to show your friends and co-workers how good your work it, but you also receive a page on an 18 year-old .org site dedicated to your award that can also link to your company website. This will help in SEO efforts. Your award is also a "newsworthy" industry event and sending out press release can also generate publicity.

#3) Have your site evaluated by independent experts - Each nominated website will be thoroughly evaluated by multiple judges, all of whom are Internet marketing experts. Our judges are selected based on their knowledge, expertise and record of accomplishment and most have been judging the WebAwards for multiple years. Whether or not you win an award, the feedback you may receive from the judges is valuable in and of itself.

#2) Drive the competition to tears - Since the program is industry based, you compete only again those in your industry. You need to differentiate your services from your competitors and winning awards can help you do that (and you'd hate to tell your CEO that you did not beat your competition because you did not enter!).

#1) Your Mom will be proud of you when you bring home the iconic WebAward Best of Industry statue - Winning a WebAward is something to be proud of and people outside web development understand being recognized by your peers means you're doing a good job!

Entering is easy. Simply create a nominator account or log into an existing account from past years. This password protected area will allow you to enter multiple sites, edit the information up to when the judging begins and receive updates, results and feedback on your entries throughout the competition.

2014 WebAward Judges Needed

Each year we add several new judges to the WebAward Judges panel in order to handle the increased number of entries and replace judges that are not able to participate this year.
