The deadline for entering the 2007 Internet Advertising Competition is less than a month away. Today online advertising is more than just banner ads. The award show has categories for rich media online ad, email messages, online newsletters, microsite/landing pages and integrated ad campaigns. My personal favorite category is “ads the client did not choose”. Often some of the most interesting creative is too controversial for clients to run in a campaign or done on spec and not picked up. The IAC Awards offers you a venue to show your extreme creativity without interference.
This year we have added a nominator account to the IAC Awards. This allows you to have a single account to track multiple entries without having to reenter your personal information each time. Your WebAward nominator account log-in will not work for the IAC Awards. You will need to create a new sign-in for this program and you can do so at http://www.webaward.org/iac/nominator_newacct.asp.
If you are a past IAC Judge and have not received your invitation to judge the 2007 awards and you would like to participate, please email me at email@example.com and we will get you signed up. If you are interested in judging for the first time, please nominate yourself at http://www.advertisingcompetition.org/iac/judges.asp. Once we know which of our past judges are returning, we will be able to select a handful of new judges. It is a great opportunity to have input into online advertising standards and give back to the online marketing community.
The Web Marketing Association will once again be attending several of the major Internet-based conventions and trade shows this year. We are again working with several to offer our readers the opportunity to win free conference passes and discounts to attend. Next month I will list all of the events we are planning to attend, but look below in the “For Our Readers” section for some of the major conferences coming up early in the year.
