Winners of the 2006 WebAward competition were released last month and by all accounts the award program was a success once again. A record number of entries were judged by experts from 17 countries. Special congratulations goes to Big Spaceship Interactive in New York for their Best of Show winning entry, TBS: Department of Humor Analysis web site at www.tbshumorstudy.com, which also won Best TV Website. R/GA was also recognized with the Top Agency WebAward for receiving 19 awards in the competition.
Special thanks must be given to our outstanding jury of Internet experts who served as judges for the 2006 WebAwards. These industry leaders volunteered their time and expertise to help raise the standard of excellence for all Web sites.
Recently, I was asked to provide the keynote address for the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association’s annual Summit in St. Paul. The presentation covered trends in award winning websites based on the results of the 2006 WebAwards. We will be expanding on these findings and updating our Internet Standards Assessment Report later this year. The daily newspaper, St Paul Pioneer Press, covered the event and you can read the article here.
